Alterstate ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy covers both the Alterstate app and this website (alterstate.app). It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, your name (when provided by those services). This is handled through Firebase Authentication, a service provided by Google.
Check-In and Session Data. When you use Alterstate, we store the mood, emotional balance, clarity, and energy levels you enter during check-ins, along with a record of which sessions you complete (track title and category). This is used to calculate your session streak and show your own activity history within the app. It is stored using Google Firestore.
Health Data (Optional). If you choose to connect Apple Health, with your explicit permission through iOS:
Health data we read is used only on your device to personalize your experience — we do not transmit the physiological readings we read from Apple Health (heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, sleep) to our own servers, sell it, or use it for advertising. Entries we write to Apple Health are stored by Apple in your Health app, governed by Apple's own privacy practices for Health data.
What We Do Not Collect. We do not use advertising networks, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app. We do not collect your location.
alterstate.app is a static informational site — it does not require an account and does not collect personal information through forms. We do not use cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising trackers on this website. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for a short period, solely for security and reliability purposes. These logs are not linked to your identity or used for marketing.
We use Firebase (a Google service) for authentication and data storage, and Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple for account creation. These providers may process data on our behalf, governed by their own privacy practices. Health data you choose to connect is governed by Apple's HealthKit and Health app privacy practices.
You can delete your account at any time from the You tab → Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your check-in history, session data, and login credentials. This action cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not remove entries already written to your Apple Health data (Mindful Minutes, State of Mind) — you can delete those separately from within the Health app.
Alterstate is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date above.
